I am an artist in the Pacific North West. I work in watercolor, gouache, oil, acrylic, encaustic, clay and, sometimes, all of those at once. My art occasionally surprises me and always continues to evolve. I have a lifelong passion for horses and they are often in my work.
I am assisted, comforted, and supported in my work by my kind and wonderful husband, my family and my trusty assistant, Mollywog, a ridiculously charming standard parti poodle. When my mind becomes too tangled and the paints stop flowing, she follows me around and relentlessly drops her ball at my feet to be thrown. My horses nicker and insist on being fed and ridden, with stalls to be cleaned and fences to be mended. And there is the call of the garden, with its seasonal rituals and endless work to be done. When all of these necessary life chores are accomplished, I return to my studio, renewed and recharged.
Molly is assisted in her work by Poppy, our goofy, black, standard poodle, and Lucy, my nephew’s miniature golden doodle. Poppy and Lucy take their roles as house jester and therapy dog, respectively, very seriously.
